When you are travelling to Thailand, the first task in your list should be to get your travel documents ready. You can choose to have this part handled all by yourself or you can go through your local travel agent. Though handing this part will save you some money it involves a lot of time. On the other hand, when you get help from your local travel agent, your efforts will be minimized. Whether you are going to handle your travel papers by yourself or get help from your travel agent, you must find out the travel requirements from the tourism department directly so that your travel agent will not take you for a ride.

Travelling always brings its own excitement and this excitement will be doubled when you are visiting a new place. Along with the excitement, you will also have a lot to do in terms of preparations for the trip to Thailand is no exception. Thailand not only attracts tourists but it also attracts a lot of business visitors every year. You might be travelling with your family to Thailand for your vacation or you may be travelling alone; you may be visiting this country for business reasons or for holidays. This will also give you enough freedom to tailor your trip according to your desire. On the other hand, if you book your tickets in the last moment, it is very likely that your travel plans have to be tailored according to the ticket availability.

Learning the background of your destination is always a prudent part of the travel preparations. Thailand for instance has a lot to offer the modern day visitor and at the same time, it has managed to retain its cultural heritage. Thailand has ancient temples that have been preserved from times long ago. Moreover, Thailand is a Buddhist country and giving Thailand a great spiritual flavor. Learning the background of a particular place, you will be able to understand people from that place better. This will ensure a smooth trip to Thailand.

Have every possible arrangement made before you leave your country. Have your hotels booked, find out how you will be moving around from one spot to the other locally, pick the places of interest that you would want to visit, etc. It is always cheaper to go for a sight seeing package rather than moving from one place to the other all by yourself. It is also safer to travel with a group when you are in a new country.

Travelers around the world enjoy seeing the sights and wonders of different places with only a backpack for all the things they need. Because they only have a pack on their backs, the possibilities of new sightseeing and activity adventures are limitless.

But of course, before you head for a faraway hiking adventure with your backpack, you must make sure that you bring all the things you need to put in your backpack. Below is a checklist that will make your backpacking adventure a pleasant experience.

- Backpack

Of course, how can you go for a wild backpacking activity without a backpack! Pick one that is comfortable and fits well on you. A properly fitted backpack is essential. You are going hiking and the last thing you need is a backpack that is gouging into your shoulders. Make sure your is fitted properly.

This depends on the season and place where you are traveling. You might also wear your long underwear when you stay in hotels that do not have adequate well-heating systems.

Pillow case is an essential thing to keep when you stay in backpacker hotels.

When you stay in backpacker hotels. Select a lightweight sleeping bag. Down is the best type of sleeping bag. Yes, they do cost a bit more, but the prices is well worth it. Feathers are very light and you can compress a down into a very small package.

- Passport

Don’t even think of leaving the country without it.

So that you could be able to divide up the money that you have just in case.

- Day Pack

Most backpacks have a detachable daypack.

- Camera

A digicam may be better, but bulkier and heavier to carry.

For the writer and chronicler in you.

Useful when you take a shower.
